What is it to live by faith?
- What is faith?
- That is sort of asking “What is truth” we are losing the understanding of these words in our society. In the back of my Bible there is a concordance I looked up the word “Faith”. It is listed over 100 times; I didn’t count how many times it listed words like faithful, faithfulness and so on. So what does this have to do with anything? It seems that “Faith” is important to God. I took 2 verses out of my concordance 1 Corinthians 2:5 “So that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power” as well as Ephesians 4:5 “one Lord, one faith, one baptism;” there is much more of course, this is just a tiny nugget…I’m sure I will be ruminating on this word faith for a while. This chapter talks about the unity in the body of Christ. So what is faith? Why is it important? What does it mean for me and for my family? How can it impact the world? I don’t pretend to know all the answers but I do know this if it is important to God it will impact the world. After all He created it, cares for it enough to send himself in human form to die a horrible death for something He never did.
